Republicans Overseas condemns the political assassination of Charlie Kirk and urges our leaders to punish the perpetrators to the fullest extent of the law.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – We are shocked and saddened by the horrific murder of Charlie Kirk.
Charlie had a heart for young people and a desire to spare them from the sadness and dreariness of lives lived under leftism. He went straight into the heart of the leftist beast – the university – and engaged directly with college students. He listened to people and encouraged civil debate. He never shied away from giving a hard answer to a difficult question, but he did so with grace and with a genuine desire to share the truth with the questioner. Charlie’s influence can undoubtedly be seen in the growing conservatism of young people, especially young men.
We pray for the repose of Charlie’s soul and that God will comfort his wife and two young children. We pray for his friends and family and for the many young people who never met Charlie, but whose lives were touched by him and whose death will affect them.
In the wake of this political assassination, we hope that our leaders will have the wisdom to steer our nation away from political violence, and we insist that they have the courage and fortitude to punish the perpetrators and funders of this violence to the maximum extent that the law allows.
